How to Transfer a Domain

Step-by-step guide to transferring your domain to Janhost.

Prerequisites

  • Unlock the domain: Log in to your current registrar and disable "Domain Lock".
  • Get the EPP Code: Also known as the Auth Code, from your current registrar.
  • Verify email: Ensure your admin email address is reachable.

Initiating the Transfer

  1. Go to the Janhost Domains page.
  2. Select "Transfer Domain".
  3. Enter your domain name and the EPP Code.
  4. Complete checkout to pay for the transfer (which usually includes a 1-year renewal).

Transfers typically take 5-7 days to complete, depending on the losing registrar's release process.
